I have so, so many books on my wishlist that I’d love to own! At the moment I am making do with the library. I love borrowing books but there are certain favourite books of mine I’d like to read and certain books I’d love to buy that I’m pretty sure I’m going to love. Because I like making lists with more than one item on it, I’m going to chose two books this week instead of just one. One book is one that I’ve read and desperately want to own but just haven’t read yet. The other is a book I haven’t read and would love to own. Okay, here goes.
The book I have read:
Love Is The Higher Law by David Levithan
What it’s about: Revolving around the 9/11 disaster, this novel deals with human vulnerabilities of love, life, death and the future. It’s a fascinating depiction of the 9/11 catastrophe and the aftermath of such an event and how people respond to it. There’s a lot of romance in the novel, too. One of Levithan’s best gay couple depictions, in my opinion. A wonderful, wonderful book.
Why I want to own it: #1: It’s my favourite David Levithan book. #2: I want to add to my Levithan collection. #3: I need it. I just do.
The book I haven’t read:
All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
What it’s about: Gripping romance and drama and suicide and death and the meaning of life and two unlikely friends saving each other. I assume. I can’t really do an accurate summary of the summary on goodreads without reading it, but that’s pretty much what I know at this point.
Why I’d like to own it: #1: The cover is so pretty! I love buying novels with pretty covers. #2: I think it would look great next to all my other YA contemporary novels. I mean, it is compared to the likes of Eleanor & Park. #3: It’s one of the few books I’d like to take with me to read on my long journey to Vietnam (Though I think I might need to take my iPad with some ebooks as well). #4: I’ve heard a lot of good things about it and I think I’ll love it enough to be happy about owning it!
Have you read either of these? What’s on your wishlist?
